Four years on... I'm only slightly more experienced - choosing to remain inexperienced.
My most intriguing thoughts centre around amalgamating sexuality/sensuality with spirituality.
An unexpected addition that increases the intensity which usually translates to deeper intimacy and stronger feelings of satisfaction.
Tantric sex is a popularised example of this connection. My understanding is that a couple moves past the physical, at the beginning, to attain a mind-blowing, potent and a physical union that can build for hours. I'd love to see this as the norm for married and committed relationships.
This requires more attention and investment than can be found in the passing fancy of an experience or moment. The bonds of time demand some kind of contract for this culmination. Promises of the banal and everyday sort... Promises for appreciation and confidence... Promises that appropriately put other before self without loss of independance or genuine affection.
Sex is never just sex. It's a reflection to things that are deeper.
